Tibet
Where a smiling face and warm embrace will greet you
“No
Man is an Island, No man stands alone. Each
man’s joy is joy to me. Each
man’s grief is my own. We
need one another, so I will defend, Each man as my brother, each man as my friend.”
Wintz, Gary Tibet globalgary1@juno.com 310-822-7908
Gary has spent most of the past 30 years outside the United States traveling to over 200 countries. In 1982, he was employed by Tibet University in Lhasa, thus becoming one of the first Westerners to actually reside in Tibet since the communist Chinese occupation. Gary has met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama many times and has lectured on Tibet at many universities around the world and in the United States, including Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth and Brown. He contributed to a recently published book, White Lotus, an anthology on Tibetan culture. As a photographer, his images grace everything from post cards to book covers, and he has presented slide lectures for the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. Since 1987, he has worked as a consultant with development organizations and for media projects throughout Southeast Asia. Currently, Gary continues to travel the world, lecturing on cruise ships, leading expeditions and tours and sharing his knowledge and experiences of such diverse countries as Tibet, Laos, Cambodia and Iran.
