Recently, based on an astrological perspective, we entered the Aquarian Age.  The keynote of this age is

synthesis.  That means our opportunity in the coming months and years is to assimilate this keynote, or put

another way, align ourselves with the qualities of synthesis.

    Those who are ready to embrace the new energy, people with loftier thinking and charged with pure motives, 

will cultivate an ever expanding sense of synthesis.  They will be the leaders in the years ahead.  They are the 

ones who will demonstrate wisdom, joy, health and will evoke trust and confidence.  The energy of synthesis

will radiate from their beings. They are the ones who will be in service to humanity.

   Synthesis is achieved when there is a vision of the Common Good.  Yet, with this vision, the individual does

not lose his individuality.  Just as a color does not lose its' identity in the painting by a master artist, in fact,

it is in becoming a harmonious part of a painting that the color has added meaning.  In like manner the 

existence of our individuality has increased meaning as we become a harmonious part

of the Common Good.

    It is in group life that our real essence is called forth.  It is in group 

interaction that hindrances, thoughts of separatisim, fear of loss, etc. are removed.  As we face 

test after test, we continually define ourselves and learn to stand in the Common Good.  Synthesis is arrived 

at through becoming the highest that we are essentially.  It's center truly is the heart.  The nature of the 

relationship between our heart and the Divine, or Cosmic Heart, is a true reflection of our degree of synthesis.

   In the Rainbow Community we see our individualness as part of a whole and in light of Oneness which is

our essential nature.  In response to questions about how such a community functions, we have designed the

guiding principles that follow.  We welcome your continued comments and participation as the Rainbow 

Community continues to evolve.

1.  We are One in our essential nature as spiritual beings.

            We celebrate our Oneness!  

2.  We have diverse gifts and life experiences.

            We honor our diversity! 

3.  We align ourselves with higher consciousness or what is called Cosmic or Divine thinking.  As such, we

see our individual paths as a way but not as the ONLY way.  (When we identify with our own thought as if 

no higher thoughts can be found, we make our thought our own standard, we imprision ourselves within our

thought and then the thought uses us instead of us using the thought.)

4.  We see and speak of that which is beautiful, noble and honorable within ourselves and others. 

5.  We know the world to be a reflection of our inner awareness.  As within, so without.  (As we direct our

thoughts toward the Cosmic or Divine mind, we expand our consciousness in gradually contacting more of 

the Divine: we expand our awareness in contacting subtle layers of the Divine, and eventually when we 

identify ourselves with the Divine, we recognize the Divine within.)

6.  We are responsible for our happiness and see others as being responsible for theirs.

7.  We remember our vision of the future as we face each life situation in our daily walk.

8.  When we find ourselves experiencing "turmoil or conflict" involving another person, we first and foremost 

commit to looking within to see what may be needing adjustment or realignment - to see what issues or value 

differences may be emerging for us to clarify.

9.  We believe others are willing to make adjustments when there is a reasonableness to our request.  (For

the most part, people are not really out to "get us!")

10.  When we find another's behavior is "tangibly" affecting us, we commit to speaking directly to that 

individual from a position of deep respect.  We will describe how their behavior affects us tangibly and

request their assistance in bringing about a change that honors both ourselves and the other person - a

change that is acceptable to both in which all parties NEEDS are met without either feeling they are "giving

in" to the other.

11.  When we find our behavior is "tangibly" affecting another and they speak to us from a position of deep 

respect, we commit ourselves to actively listen and understand how our behavior is affecting them and to seek

a way to adjust that is mutually acceptable.  

12.  When we find ourselves unable to mutually adjust so that each party feels honored, we commit to 

utilizing the services of a third party designated by the community to assist in processing our conflict to a 

mutually acceptable resolution.

13.  We see ourselves as part of a living and loving community of people committed to the welfare of each

and all equally.  In any sustained conflictual situation that is not resolved by the steps outlined above, the 

community will be gathered at the request of the designated facilitator for purpose of bringing the loving 

energy of the group to heal and facilitate resolution.  The resolution realized by this process will be the 

decision of the community which we respect and by which we agree to abide.  

   We believe these are principles that will aid in bringing this world into balance and a realization of the 

axiom: "As above, So below."
