has always acknowledged that often as much as 60% of healing is
belief in the healer. Working as a Registered Nurse
for over 30 years, I have seen many desperately sick people in
hospitals who were often there because they did not accept responsibility
for their own health. I found it very frustrating to be working at
the tail end of the health system and developed a finely honed
belief that prevention is better than cure.
There are also studies done on the
"placebo effect". In one study people with severe arthritis were
treated by giving them an arthroscopic knee operation.
Half the people actually had the operation while the other half
only believed they had been operated on but in fact had merely had their skin cut. Amazingly as many people in the placebo group were cured, with no operation, as the ones who really had the operation. There are also studies on the success of the placebo effect of tablets (e.g. giving a sugar tablet instead of the real tablet) and even further, and weirder, whereby you can look at a tablet and take on the properties your body needs. It all boils down to the same thing. We are capable of healing ourselves. Reconnective Healing, that I have wholeheartedly embraced, is really only another step in helping people to heal themselves. my daughter of 3 months got extremely sick and has been in & out of hospital (36 major operations) for many years. I was always searching for something that would lessen the pain & traumas that we were going through. On the way, I learned a lot of other modalities that helped at the time. One of them was the use of Crystals (they have amazing healing energies), which I used in my healings with great success. One day I went to an acupuncturist and during the course, I mentioned that I needed to be brought back into balance & harmony. He then introduced me to Joy Westwood who then became my Mentor and Friend and took me under her wing and taught me Reiki and through her became a Reiki Master/Teacher, Tibetan Initiation Process, Sekham. The Universe works in strange ways, again there was something I had to learn. I injured my back and had to have an operation. I was forced to have quiet times which for me was very had to do. In that time I did a lot of thinking and processing and found that you have to have BALANCE in your spiritual as well as personal like, you have to be at peace with yourself & the welfare and happiness of yourself and family always comes first. One day I went to the pharmacy & and yogi, the pharmacist mentioned to me about a gook that he was reading and thing I would be interested in it. The book was Dr. Eric Pearl's, "The Reconnection." WOW, this was for me! I knew this was the ONE I had been searching for. I attended a Seminar with Dr. Pearl in June 2004 and trained for level I & II of Reconnective Healing. Later I took training for level III. Since then I have used the Reconnective Healling with the passion and commitment to bring Love, Light and Information to all, whether on the massage table or as "distance" healings.
