Doug
was raised in Oregon, where trout fishing on the
McKenzie River was a regular routine. Though his
professional life was expressed in Washington as a
Psychologist in private practice and Director of the
Snohomish County Court of Domestic Relations, his heart
always embraced the "call of the wild" and led him into a
variety of Alaskan Wilderness adventures. He became a
joint partner of a rustic fish camp in Alaska. He
befriended Native Aleut and Yup'ik residents and
captured the essence of their daily living through his
paintings and writings. Doug is the author of "Pursuing
the Untamed:Soulful Discoveries Sipped from Vintage
Alaska's Wilderness Goblet." as well as an artist that's
been featured in one-man art shows in Alaska. Colonel Norman D. Vaughan, a member
of the first Byrd Antarctic Expedition in 1928-30 says: "Doug's dedication to discovery is
